OEM/ODM Accepted! Customized Compressed Air Drying Solutions!
Product Overview
The Low Purge Heated Blower Desiccant Air Dryer is an energy-efficient compressed air drying solution that combines the reliability of desiccant adsorption with advanced blower-assisted regeneration technology. By using a blower to draw ambient air for regeneration instead of consuming compressed air during the heating phase, this system significantly reduces operating costs compared to conventional heatless dryers.
This dryer delivers a stable -40°C pressure dew point as standard, with -70°C available for the most demanding applications. It is the ideal choice for industries requiring ultra-dry compressed air while prioritizing energy efficiency.
How It Works
The dryer features a dual-tower design that operates continuously: while one tower adsorbs moisture from the compressed air, the other undergoes regeneration.
Regeneration Process:
Heating Phase – A high-efficiency blower draws ambient air and passes it through an electric heater. The heated air flows through the saturated desiccant bed, vaporizing and removing trapped moisture. During this phase, no compressed air is consumed.
Cooling Phase – Unlike zero purge designs that use closed-loop cooling, the low purge model uses a small amount of dried compressed air (approximately 2-3% of rated flow) to cool the regenerated tower. This simple, proven method ensures reliable cooling without the complexity of additional coolers.
Switching – Once regeneration and cooling are complete, the tower is re-pressurized and returned to service, while the other tower begins its regeneration cycle. This alternating process ensures 24/7 uninterrupted supply of dry air.
Advantages
- Low Purge Air Consumption
Only 2-3% of rated flow is consumed as purge air during the cooling phase — significantly lower than heatless dryers (15-20%) and heated purge dryers (5-8%). - Energy Efficient Operation
By using ambient air for heating regeneration and minimizing compressed air loss, operating costs are substantially reduced. Compared to heatless dryers, energy savings can reach 40-50%. - Stable Ultra-Low Dew Point
Delivers -40°C pressure dew point (standard) with optional -70°C available — meeting ISO 8573-1 Class 2 air quality standards. - Reliable Continuous Operation
Dual-tower automatic cycling ensures uninterrupted dry air supply, even under heavy load or 24/7 operating conditions. Rugged construction with quality switching valves ensures long service life. - Smart Control
PLC-based control with optional dew point dependent cycling adjusts regeneration cycles based on actual load, further optimizing energy consumption.
Low Purge vs. Zero Purge – Which One to Choose?
| Consideration | Low Purge Blower Dryer | Zero Purge Blower Dryer |
|---|---|---|
| Purge Air Consumption | 2-3% | 0% |
| Initial Investment | Lower | Higher |
| Complexity | Simpler | More complex (closed-loop cooling) |
| Best For | Applications where 2-3% purge loss is acceptable | Applications requiring absolute zero purge loss |
Choose Low Purge when you want a cost-effective balance of energy savings and initial investment.
Choose Zero Purge when you have zero tolerance for compressed air loss and maximum energy efficiency is required.
